happy mayday everyone! (why never ask Mayday to come singapore to sing at the padang concert. haha, not that i went lah. haha) anyway, woohoo. i love this banner. it's currently in the "still under construction" cloud-taiwan.net webpage, my source of rain updates! aiyz! i think they are having some problems with the domain, but luckily they haf another website (presumably a rain fan's own website) where we can read about his news. heeee.

anyway, i went a free pedicure (my 2nd pedicurE! haha, first one was in bangkok!) this afternoon at JEC, @ the shop called Mansion de nails. it was realli quite an experience wow i realli love all the soaking scrubbing pulling rubbing and massaging!! it's so luxurious lah, for another human being to treat ur feet in such a wonderful way. haha. u know i haf realli thick soles (from all the standing, walking around in hosps) and i really pitied the girl when she was trying very hard to scrub my heel with the rough surfaced thingy...keratin buildup lah! haha...oh well, at first i chose red colour..but then i was thinking, i might as well choose some colour that i don't haf at home. so i went realli exotic and chose a bright blue...haha. i think my mom thinks i should have chose pink or sth (but i haf pink/red/purple at home already lah!) oh well, actually i quite like it, but i realise i dun have any blue footwear. it only goes well with blue footwear (and incidentally i went there in blue slippers)...hmm...that is an indication for me to search for blue heels! haha. shopping anybody? HAHA.

before that i was working out at cali with bern and his fren; the sales consultant wasn't around and wasn't coming today, so i din get to sign up/negotiate for a better price today. BUT i got to use the gym for free today! WOOT. i went for 3/4 of ABT class! haha...realli nice to sweat it out after being nua for god knows how long. haha. i am a fat blob.

okay, it just started raining again...wassup man...the weather has been rainy lately...everyone pls rem to bring ur brolly out!

i think this issue has been out for quite a long time, but i must feature it here!

TIME 100: The People Who Shape Our World

Rain
The Magic Feet from Korea By BRYAN WALSH

Posted Tuesday, Apr. 25, 2006

Rain is big-big!-in Japan. The South Korean king of pop also fills seats in Beijing, Pusan and Bangkok. In Hong Kong his concerts sell out in 10 minutes, and across much of Asia, fans snap up pirated videos of his soap operas. Thanks to his angelic face, killer bod and Justin Timber— like dance moves, Rain, 23, has ridden the crest of hallyu, or the Korean wave, the Asia-wide obsession for that country's pop culture. But the ambition that lifted Rain (real name: Ji Hoon Jung) out of a one-room house in Seoul won't be sated by simply conquering the biggest continent on earth. Rain is looking east to the U.S., studying English day and night. He sold out two shows at Madison Square Garden's smaller venue in February, and that could be just a few drops of the deluge that some think will follow the release of his English-language debut album this fall. Yet even if Rain, whose style virtually clones American pop, fails to make it in the U.S., the trend he represents is here to stay. Rain is the face-and well-muscled torso-of pop globalism. Before he visited the U.S., Rain already had a fan base, thanks to Internet music sites, satellite TV and DVDs of his soap operas. Those are the same media that make it easier than ever for growing numbers of Americans to get their fix of Japanese anime, Bollywood films and Korean music—and vice versa. Pop culture no longer moves simply in a single direction, from the West to the rest of the world. Instead, it's a global swirl, no more constrained by borders than the weather. Rain, after all, falls on everyone.

you can read about the other 99 ppl too. haha.

WOW, im realli proud of my ou xiang!! he's feature on TIME magazine on the 100 ppl who shape our world/100 most influential ppl!! hee. i guess he played a huge part in creating the korean wave (han2 liu2), but actually alot of other korean actors/actresses also lah, but i guess his influence was greatest cos he is not only an actor but also a singer and dancer! WOOT! HAHA... RAIN IS DA BEST! he's really working hard to overcome the language barrier man, he recently sang a chinese song and is planning to release an ENGLISH album?!?!?! WOOO!!! can't wait.

anyway last night i was reading some M2 blogs, HAHA they are really amusing. i can't believe they are so excited over CSFC lah...gushing over nice doctors, seniors, nurses, learning how to scrub for OT etc..hahaha makes me wonder if i was lidat last year! HAHA. i probably was lah huh...i was posted to NU* during CSFC...and there were 2 seniors who kindly allowed us to clerk the px and examine the px with them...and one of the senior is a DA SHUAI GE!! HAHAAHH mi and ht were just having palpitations lah...hee. anyway okay that was out of point but seriously, just wait and see lah, these enthusiastic m2s will slowly become jaded, tired, sick of hosp...hehe initially it is confirm exciting cos they are just released to the wards...soon they'll be so tired of the wards and wish there were daily lectures instead. cos everyday becomes really very tiring lah...har har har...okay i sound so cynical. anyway my word of advice to the juniors: PLEASE ENJOY UR 2 or 3 MONTH BREAK(for M2 and M1). HAHA. there's no such thing as a month's break anymore. it's now in WEEKS. HAHA. in fact, we count ourselves lucky if it's in week(SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS) man. haha...*sigh*
